Cricket anyone?

What you guys think about the ongoing Test match series between India and England. I guess people in USA do not know what I am talking about but this is for people who know cricket.
I have read a lot of articles recently on the web sites about the decline of our Maestro Sachin Tendulkar (Michael Jordan of Cricket).

It brings a great deal of pain when writers, readers and others mention how Tendulkar is past his prime and do not perform in crunch situations. While all the accusations are somewhat true, it should be noted that he still makes lot of runs and human just like everyboday else.

It needs to be mentioned that Cricket is a team game and one needs to have ample support from the teamamtes to win or draw a match. In Tendulkar's prime, all of 1990's, there was little support from the other players when he made big scores, azhar may be one one exception. Now, in Dravid's case he had support from Laxman, Sehwag, Ganguly and Tendulkar himself. It is unfair to criticize someone who made more international centuries than anyone in Cricket, question his love for the game.

What we should do instead is cherish his final years in Cricket bcos his time is quickly nearing its end, and let him be his own man. Who knows his greatest innings is just around the corners!!!

There is some truth about Tendulkar not being able to deliver in pressure situations. What he is really good is hammering more nails
into the coffin but when the casket is about to close but he will usually not hammer the last nail. being an ardent fan and following his career I have come to realize that he will take you very close but he is not a finisher which was evident in the Chennai test and some other one day internationals where he absorbed all the pressure, put the opposition to submission but was not able to close the deal. Thats why we need Dravid and Yuvraj/Laxman to bat right/(along) after him.

The other part is the psyche of the
Indian team. They got a reprieve in the first test and now they are 1 up in the series. What has ended up so many times in foreign tours that they have adapted to conditions, gone one up in the series but not able to withstand when the opposition comes back with their tails up.

For that to happen we will need Sreesanth to get some sort of control in his bowling and I believe that a stint in county cricket would really help his career like it did Zaheer Khan.

Ofcourse how the big four play in the final test will determine which way the series goes. I am not counting on Tendulkar but I would love to be proven wrong. Also they need to stop getting out to Monty. They are being over aggressive and over confident against him. They just need to give him the respect he deserves and make sure they dont
lose an avg of 3 wickets to him every inning.
